Did you know your leftover food or yard and garden clippings can be turned into renewable energy? When organic waste breaks down, it emits methane. We can harness that methane and put it to use as renewable gas to fuel our homes, transportation and to generate electricity.

SoCalGas is working to increase the supply of renewable gas here in California. In fact, the utility has set a goal that by 2030, 20% of the gas it delivers to residential and small business customers will come from renewable sources.
