WHAT: Starting Tuesday, April 7, SoCalGas will be performing pipeline replacement and maintenance work on Compton Boulevard between Bullis Road and Atlantic Avenue in Compton. Crews are expected to work on the natural gas pipeline through January 2021.

To perform the work safely, closures of one west and eastbound lane on Compton Boulevard will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Traffic control cones, message boards and flagmen will help direct the flow of traffic.

No interruption to natural gas service is anticipated.

Per the Governor's most recent ‘stay-at-home’ order, those deemed as providing essential services are exempt from the ‘stay at home’ order in recognition of the importance of these sectors to the health and well-being of Californians.  The state order, as well as federal policy directive, identifies our business as a critical energy infrastructure sector and the continuing work of SoCalGas is essential to the safety and reliability of our natural gas system. So that we continue to provide safe and reliable energy service through this crisis and beyond, SoCalGas will continue to perform work needed to maintain our infrastructure.

SoCalGas’ crews are practicing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) social distancing guidelines and are briefed daily on COVID-10 safety.

WHEN: Lanes will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, through January 2021 beginning on April 7, weather and other conditions permitting.
