Check Your Eligibility and Apply for Multifamily Rebates
Follow the steps below to get started!
- Download and review the 2026 Multifamily Rebate Application to check eligibility.
- Purchase and install new eligible, energy efficient natural gas equipment.
- Complete the application and include all of the following items:
- Completed form. Property owner or authorized agent must sign, print their name, and date the application.
- A copy of a recent SoCalGas bill for the natural gas account serving the energy efficient equipment. Address and account number must match the name, site address, and account number on the application.
- A copy of PAID-IN-FULL itemized sales receipt(s), contractor invoice(s) or paid home improvement contract(s). See proof of purchase requirements.
- Email your completed application packet to multifamilyrebates@socalgas.com or mail it to the following address:

Already submitted your rebate application? Here’s how to check your status:
Central System Natural Gas Storage Water Heaters
Rebate of up to $6 per mBtu. Must have a rated or measured capacity of 80 gallons or greater.
Central System Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater
Rebate of up to $12 per mBtu. Water heater must not be used for industrial purposes, and must replace existing natural gas equipment. Pools and spas don’t qualify.
In-Dwelling EnergyStar® Natural Gas Tankless Water Heaters
Rebate of up to $1,500. Must be replacing a conventional tank-type water heater in individual apartment units.
Central System Natural Gas Boilers
Rebate of up to $12 per mBtu. Boiler must not be used for industrial purposes and must replace existing natural gas equipment. Pools and spas don’t qualify. If your central system boiler is more than 20 years old, consider replacing it with a new one.
Energy-Efficient Residential Natural Gas Oven
Rebate of up to $500. Limit one per household. Must be replacing an existing natural gas oven.
Natural Gas Fireplace Inserts
Rebate of up to $500. Tier requirement; Tier I (70-74.9 FE) or Tier II (75 FE or greater). Must have electronic pilot ignition.
Domestic Hot Water Loop Temperature Controller
Rebate of up to $1,400. Rebate applies to new installations on existing natural gas-heated domestic hot water common systems serving multifamily dwelling units.
Natural Gas Patio Heaters
A $400 rebate is available to qualifying natural gas patio heater units. Qualifying standalone and wall mount models are noted on the application.
